Project Description

This project adds social connectors to NewsGator Social Sites® for SharePoint 2010. It allows you to send your activity feeds outside of your organisation (to Twitter and LinkedIn) simply by adding tags in the message.



This project is not an official NewsGator product, and therefore not supported by NewsGator.

Features

• Post activity feed messages to your personal Twitter account by adding #tw tag
• Post activity feed messages to your personal LinkedIn account by adding #li tag
• User can opt-in to his/her personal Twitter and LinkedIn account (from SharePoint mySite). Opt-out is also possible
• SharePoint Solution/package, easy to deploy

Requirements

• NewsGator Social Sites® for SharePoint 2010 (Foundation or Enterprise version) http://www.newsgator.com/products/social-sites-for-sharepoint-2010.aspx
• SharePoint 2010 (Standard or Enterprise edition) with My Sites enabled

SharePoint Administration

The social connectors have its own ADMIN page where a user can Opt-In or Opt-Out at any time.
OAuth is used for authorising each user to the social platforms.



LinkedIn status

When you post a message with a hashtag for LinkedIn in NewsGator,
the status is updated in LinkedIn automatically.
